Irish fly dressers have a long tradition with the classic wet fly, due to our vast array of wild lakes and loughs the wet fly has been used and developed by generations of anglers. There are thousands upon thousands of dressings out there for lough style wets and every dresser has their own perception on colours, shapes, proportions and tying styles. I was lucky enough as a young lad to get to spend every Friday evening during the winter with the legendary fly dresser Noel Shields in his home in Greystones, Co Wicklow. Here Noel drummed into the classic style of tying wets and understanding of how to tie and use materials for effective fly tying.
Here is but a few samples of flies that I tie and if you would like any of these dressings in your preferred sizesthen please feel free to contact me on pdriver1410@gmail.com
